The East Pilbara Arts Centre (EPAC) is a partnership between Martumili Artists, Shire of East Pilbara, BHP Billiton Iron Ore the Pilbara Development Commission and Lotteries West. The building was innovatively procured through a design competition led by the University of Western Australia. EPAC is a contemporary, flexible gallery and working space that provides Martumili Artists, an organization representing over 250 self-employed artists spread across seven Aboriginal communities in the eastern Pilbara, with a purpose-built creative facility for cultural expression, education and public exhibitions of work.
