Noosa Centre, Cooloola Sunshine Institute of TAFE

The Noosa Centre of the Cooloola Sunshine Institute of TAFE was designed by Project Services (the multidisciplinary professional business-unit of the Queensland Department of Public Works) for a previously undeveloped 14.5ha site west ofTewan-tin.The building's casual appearance sits well with its use - the teaching of arts and crafts and general studies and the local headquarters for U3A. Under a Queensland government program two per cent of the capital cost must be allocated for 'Art Built-in'. In this case, the funds were spent on a residential visitor's stu dio to enhance the centre's teaching and exhibition programs.
