I am honoured to have been elected as 2009 President of the Institute's NSW Chapter. This column is one of the many forums in which I want to engage in a conversation with other Chapter members regarding the priorities that we, as a profession, need to pursue in coming years. We should all be grateful for the energy and dedication of my predecessor, Deborah Dearing, and the outgoing Chapter councillors, who have maintained the momentum on many fronts during their terms of office.rnWithout question we're facing an extremely tough market in a time of financial instability. We need to provide support and advice to each other and, where possible, pool our resources so that we all survive this period, however long it might be. I am pleased to see the large practices taking some positive steps to share resources, and they have my full support for this initiative. [For a report on this, see pages 14-15.]
