Sustainable Facilities: Green Design, Construction, and Operations

The premise of this book, to look at the buildings created by organisations supportive of environmental and sustainability ideals, is a good one. The author has selected 20 projects that fit this category, most from the USA but with the addition of discussion of Forestech in Australia, the building housing the Federal Environmental Agency in Germany and the Institute for Forestry and Nature Research in The Netherlands. Quite how the selection was made is not discussed, just that all are "...compelling examples of sustainable design that both inspire and educate" and that "...green design is good business." This, then, is a personal selection and in fact includes the author's own Conservation Law Foundation Corporate Headquarters in Boston (pp.22-31).
