A renewal of interest in flexible housing is both timely and a welcome contrast for those in the public or quasi public sector with the current obsession with producing the maximum number of homes at the absolute minimum cost. The government agenda of a drive towards standardisation, off-site production and volume, combined with our current market conditions, is continuing to drive developers in the opposite direction, towards less flexibility.
