Green-Wyatt Federal Building Retrofit

This fall, a $135 million renovation of the SOM-designed Edith Green-Wendell Wyatt Federal Building (1975) is slated to begin. SERA Architects, a local firm, is working with the General Services Administration on therngreen retrofit. The project calls for a new radiant heating-and-cooling system, a rainwater-harvesting system, energy-efficient interior lighting, and exterior shading devices. The architects have also proposed a 200-foot-high living wall for the building's west facade.
