SENZOKU GAKUEN COLLEGE OF MUSIC SILVER MOUNTAIN & RED CLIFF

摘要

The plan called for a campus node to provide a nexus for campus reorganization, to draw everything together in an orderly fashion and serve as a point of contact with society. The planned location is near the gate surrounded with existing buildings, where numerous lines of traffic interlock. To facilitate school commuting and outside access while providing functionality for diverse activities, plans were drawn up to divide the node into a wing for rehearsals and concerts (the silver mountain) and a wing to provide student and outside-oriented services (the red clifi), arranged so that the main flow of traffic in the surrounding area would pass between the wings. As the essence of learning music involves cultivating creativity, we wanted to reflect this sensibility in the architectural configuration and space. To do so, we created a contrasting free-form surface and cubical shapes, and used silver and red colors that are set off with multihued interior spaces.
