This facility is home to 50 residents with mental disabilities who are victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake. It features a space with exposed timber finish in the housing structure which was constructed by earthquake resistant reinforcing hardware fittings for the wooden framework. A series of gable roofs blend in well with the surrounding mountains. Offset gable roofs enable natural light and breeze to enter the rooms. The interior wooden decor continues from the private rooms and to the communal area. creating a great living space where residents can choose where to spend time, depending on how they feel.
