Post-traumatic urbanism defines a state of aftermath not extremity. It is the uncanny stillness that comes after the apocalypse, as captured in the bleak intensity of Cormac McCarthy's book The Road. Unlike the momentous event, the post-traumatic aftermath elicits a focus on survival, the desire for regeneration, the need for hope. In the rubble of extreme social and material upheaval, the resonating question is simply: 'What happens now?'
