Message from the Office of the Victorian Government Architect

When the Commonwealth Government's Nation Building Economic Stimulus Plan was announced, Victoria was in a reasonable position to act quickly. The Victorian Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) had been giving priority to collating a set of 'Exemplar Schools' to demonstrate great buildings that responded to the current pedagogical knowledge. The Department had invited architects, educators -including Principals and researcher staff from the Universities, and the Office of the Victorian Government Architect, to meet and discuss the merits of schools currently being designed and built.
