We recognised a great risk in the traditional approach of historical tours, which encourage a view of the city as a stagnant collection of historical structures, with an emphasis on the pride of the Victorian era. We were more interested in empowering people to engage more critically with the city as a fluid, morphing system, where new and potentially rich layers are frequently added.
