3.9 Performance Of Two Modems In Shadowing Mobile Satellite Links On The Ka-band

We have carried out mobile satellite communication (MSC) experiments on the Ka-band using the Communications and broadcasting Engineering Test Satellite (COMETS). We have developed two pro- totype PSK (Phase Shift Keying) modems using different detection methods. Experiments to examine the performance of these two modems in communication links with intermittent shadowing between a Local earth station and a moving test van were carried out.
