Use of pulsed plasma generators for hypervelocity acceleration of projectiles

Basic results are presented form work on creating and investigating pulsed generators of a dense gas plasma, and also devices based on them, hypervelocity accelerators of macroprojectives, in particular, which were developed at the Institute of Electrophysical problems (IPEF) of the Russian Academy of Sciences over the last 30 years. The article considers the prospects for further development of electric-discharge hypervelocity projectile accelerators.
