Future energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions in Jordanian industries

摘要

Most, i.e. 85/100, of greenhouse gas(GHG)emissions in Jordanian emanate as a result of fossil fuel combustion. The industrial sector consumed 23.3/100 of the total national fuel consump- tion for heat and electric-power generation in 1999. The CO_2 emissions from energy use in manufacturing processes represent 12.1/100 of the total national CO_2 emissions. Carbon dioxide is also released as a results of the calcining of carbonates during the manufacture of cement and iron. Electricity, which is the most expensive form of energy, in 1999 represented 45/100 of total fuel used for heat and power nationally.
