Standards Developers Deserve Protection from Tort Liability

Standards developers are worried about having to defend themselves against product liability claims. Such anxiety can inhibit standards development and harm the public interest. Federal legislation that provides standards developers limited immunity from tort liability would relieve this anxiety and help our country to maintain a healthy voluntary standards system.
