Steve’s interest in occupational hygiene began duringnhis industrial training periods working in the darkroomsnat Kodak and was nurtured in the lead industrynat Chloride Batteries under the mentorship of the latenRay Higgins.nAfter 6 years there, he moved to Thomson Laboratories,nconsulting environmental scientists, for whomnhe opened two branch offices and subsequently becamenTechnical Director. From 1986 to 1993, henwas Chief Executive of the National OccupationalnHygiene Service Ltd, a registered charity providingnconsultancy, training and testing services. He hasnalso operated his own successful consultancynbusiness.
