摘要

The field of micro total analysis systems (µTAS) (1) or lab onna chip (LOC) has extended its usefulness into many new fieldsnand disciplines spanning basic research to commercial applica-ntions. The importance of µTAS is reflected in both the growingnnumber and improved quality of published articles. µTAS hasnexpanded into an incredibly diverse number of analytical chem-nistry applications and has received a great amount of input fromna wide spectrum of scientific and engineering disciplines. In thisnsense, µTAS is highly interdisciplinary and has served as a focalnpoint to bring together multidisciplinary research fields.
