While at the University of the West Indies in Trinidad, Winston A. Richards-professor emeritus at The Pennsylvania State University-presented the Winston A. Richards Prize in Statistics to Patrick Herbert. This award, which comes with a cash prize, was presented in October 2018. It is given to a student who has the best Ⅱ and Ⅲ performance in statistics.
