Staff Spotlight Pam Craven

My name is Pam Craven, and I am the ASA's executive secretary. I have been a part of the ASA since October of 2006. My primary responsibility is to support our executive director, Ron Wasserstein. I manage his correspondence and calendar and make all his travel arrangements. I am the voice you hear when you call the ASA office and ask to speak with Ron. Even though I will never meet most of you face-to-face, I have had the pleasure of getting to know many of you over the phone. I am also the staff liaison to the Board of Directors and many of the awards committees. Working as a liaison to so many committees has provided me the opportunity to meet many members in person and gain a better understanding of the activities of the association. Staff liaison responsibilities are varied and offer a refreshing change of pace. My duties range from scheduling conference calls to providing updated content for the awards pages on the ASA web site. I also work on awards-related projects for JSM. I create the awards ceremony PowerPoint presentation and program and make arrangements for the awards, plaques, and certificates awarded at the Tuesday night ceremony.
