ASA Joins IEEE, ACM for Data Science, Advanced Analytics Conference

In recognition of statistics being one of three foundational areas of data science, the ASA is cosponsoring the 2016 IEEE/ ACM International Conference on Data Science and Advanced Analytics October 17-19, 2016, in Montreal. Founded in 2014 by the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Computational Intelligence Society (CIS) and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Special Interest Group on Knowledge Discovery from Data (SIGKDD), the conference provides a premier forum for researchers, industry practitioners, and Big Data users to exchange ideas and participate in top-level discussions about the best practices of applications and the latest theoretical developments in data science and analytics. The ASA's sponsorship of DSAA'2016 marks the first time statistical and computing/information science societies have teamed up to conduct a data science conference and promote disciplinary development in data science.
