Metromedia counts on GigE to power its resurrection

The sting of last year's well-publicized bankruptcy seems to be wearing off at Metromedia Fiber Networks, perhaps because the company is chasing after business that it used to ignore. The company, which still owns key metro fiber assets in about 12 markets, is breaking from its past business approach by selling a new Gigabit Ethernet product directly to enterprises,assuring that quality of service and service level agreements (SLAs) can be better managed because the company owns the fiber.
