'New' Photos of Lincoln's Second Inaugural

Something didn't seem quite right to Civil War collector Carl Jennings as he looked at images on the Library of Congress Web site that were purported to be snapshots of the Grand Review of the Union Armies, held in Washington, D.C., on May 23-24, 1865. He also had his suspicions about a photograph that supposedly showed the crowd at President Ulysses S. Grant's first inauguration in March 1869. For one thing, Jennings reasoned, it was easy to see that those three images definitely captured the same event. So why, he wondered, were they being attributed to two separate functions?
