Have you ever transported yourself back to the Jurassic Period and cast yourself as a dinosaur? This is not a "touchy-feely" exercise to plumb some inner anxiety. I don't even care what kind of dinosaur you wanted to be, because they all died anyway. The point is, as you plodded around munching tropical vegetation or raced around chomping another dinosaur, did you think much about trends? Probably not, because you had a pea-sized brain. That's why you lost the race with evolution. Had you been a trend-watcher, you would have noticed the weather getting colder or the increased frequency of meteor showers (depending which theory you subscribe to).
