Did you know that recent research shows that in just two years ― from 1999 to 2001 ― the number of Internet users who use Internet banking jumped from 10 to 25%? Consumers' willingness to take advantage of available technology, along with their demand for ever-increasing levels of convenience and efficiency, present an opportunity to provide better customer service as well as an important opportunity for utilities to reduce costs ― both their own and their customers'. Electronic bill payment and presentment (EBPP) uses existing technology and offers advantages to both the consumer and the biller.
