New product technology showcase: spotlighting the industry's latest and greatest innovations

Innovations and advances are taking place at an ever-increasing rate within the water supply community. For AWWA members, one way to keep abreast of up-to-the-minute technologies is the New Product Technology Showcase at the Annual Conference and Exposition (ACE). Conceived of as a way for the association's manufacturer and service provider members to spotlight their latest offerings, the showcase also offers conferees their first glimpse of cutting-edge tools and technologies that could help their organizations optimize operations and meet-regulatory requirements. The New Product Technology Showcase launched at the 2004 ACE in Orlando, Fla. Even in that inaugural year, the showcase proved such a hit with conferees that it ranked as the third most visited venue in an AWWA delegate survey. At the 2005 Annual Conference in San FranciSco, Calif., the technology showcase was back and better than ever. In its sophomore year, the showcase required that participating manufacturers and service providers have the product or a product model on display and staff thevr exhibits at scheduled times to facilitate one-on-one discussions with conference-goers. Visitors to the showcase also had an opportunity to vote for the People's Choice Award recognizing the "most useful new or improved product" (see sidebar on page 105).
