InOGA Hall Of Fame Enshrines Self-Made Producer, Geologist

The Indiana Oil & Gas Association inducted Freddie Dale McCrary and John T. "Jack" Riddell into the InOGA Hall of Fame at the banquet that closed its annual convention on Oct. 1. McCrary is an independent producer of crude oil based near Petersburg, In. Since October 1960, he has produced oil continuously from the Union Bowman Consolidated (UBC) Field, helping it sustain its place as the second-most prolific field in Southwest Indiana. Riddell is a 1955 graduate of Indiana University with a geology degree. His work laid the groundwork for new discoveries within the Esperson Dome Field in Liberty County, Tx. By 1984, the field had produced more than 50 million barrels of oil.
