Kansas Nonprofit Offers Technology Seminars

Kansas Next Step says it has scheduled its 2011 oil and gas seminar for Aug. 3-4 at the Fox Pavilion in Hays. The seminar, in its fourth year, will highlight new technologies and updates on Department of Energy projects. It offers speakers from Kansas, Texas, Colorado, Oklahoma and Scotland, the organization reports. Kansas Next Step is a nonprofit education organization. Thanks to its volunteers, it points out, all registration fees go toward providing educational experiences for students and teachers. To date, the organization reports it has provided $100,000 to more than 80 Kansas students from fifth grade to graduate school as well as teachers. Kansas Next Step says those opportunities include overseas seminars, camps and conferences.
