FMC, Operators Collaborate To Create Subsea Systems

FMC Technologies Inc. reports it has signed an agreement with Anadarko Petroleum Corp., BP PLC, ConocoPhillips Co. and Royal Dutch Shell PLC that establishes a joint industry program for developing the next generation of standardized subsea production equipment and systems. This equipment will be designed to meet the challenges of producing oil and natural gas from deepwater reservoirs with pressures as high as 20,000 psi and temperatures as high as 350 degrees Fahrenheit at the mud line, FMC Technologies details. The company adds the agreement will improve overall deepwater development by standardizing materials, processes and interfaces, and enhancing reliability and operability.
