U.S. House Refuses To Protect Fracturing From White House Ban

The U.S. House of Representatives on Oct. 29 refused to protect the oil and gas industry from any future White House ban on hydraulic fracturing. A day later, congressmen voted to permanently withdraw approximately 316,000 acres of land from oil and gas leasing surrounding the Chaco Culture National Historical Park in New Mexico.
