Wave and tidal power is beginning to turn heads, away from the turbines on top of hills and out towards the sea off the north coast of Cornwall. Wave and tidal power generation has been the dark horse of the renewable-energy race so far - the government seemingly backing it as a solid outsider before it has even left the stable. The government says the waves and tides could contribute considerably to its "10% by 2010" renewables target, and has therefore earmarked £50 million to the Marine Renewables Deployment Fund.
