Despite all the information about stress that's provided by computer modelling, knowing how much strain a component is likely to experience is vital. However, establishing this in the tight confines and harsh conditions of motorsport is difficult, especially when accuracy can be safety-critical. Beru F1 Systems of Norfolk has developed a range of high-accuracy measurement equipment for exactly this type of application.
