What Happens to Your Manuscript: Characteristics of Papers Published in Volumes 167 and 168

As an indication of the esteem in which the American Journal of Epidemiology is held, the number of submissions continues to increase, from 1,428 in 2007 to 1,530 in 2008. Three hundred seventy-eight contributions were published in volumes 167 and 168 of the Journal, which covered January 1–December 31, 2008. These 378 published papers were submitted from all over the world: reflecting our international appeal, a full 43% came from authors residing outside the United States (Table 1).
