Geriatric Nutrition provides a comprehensive and evidence-based review of both basic and clinical aspects involved in nutrition and aging. The editors successfully assemble and present a substantial amount of information covering diverse topics within geriatric nutrition. Many of the individual chapters effectively integrate basic scientific knowledge with clinical application. All 35 chapters are well-referenced and authored by one or more experts in each respective subject addressed. The extensive list of cited publications following each chapter allows readers to access further information on topics of particular interest, whereas the inclusion of an index facilitates easy navigation. Most of the chapters provide tables, charts, graphs, and illustrations that convey information clearly and concisely, many of which are suitable as clinically useful tools. Examples of assessment and screening tools specific to older adults are provided in the text, including the Mini Nutritional Assessment, the Simplified Nutritional Appetite Questionnaire, and the National Risk Screening.
