摘要

The conversion of CO2 into fuels or other useful chemicals using either thermochemical or electrochemical catalysis requires efficient and economical reduction of CO2 with careful control of the catalyst system during the reaction. To understand the mechanism of catalytic reactions for CO2 conversion we must understand the structures and interconversions of the metal-containing complexes during the reaction through the use of in operando spectroscopy. In operando spectroscopy denotes the use of spectroscopy under the actual operating conditions of the catalyst and implies that the catalytic rates are being measured concurrent with the spectroscopy.
