摘要

The effect of Al_2O_3 substitution on the thermal expansion behavior of a Li_2O-ZnO-SiO_2 glass-ceramic was investi- gated using differential thermal analysis, X-ray diffractom- etry, and dilatometry. The coefficient of thermal expansion of the original Al_2O_3-free glass-ceramic measured between 20° and 900 deg. C decreased from 12.4×10~-6deg. C~-1 to 6.3× 10~6deg. C~-1 with Al_2O_3 substitution for ZnO up to 11 wt/100. The results were correlated to the changes in the phase Assemblage with Al_2O_3 addition.
