摘要

Designing specific particle size distributions yields significant benefits to ceramic processes and products. Efforts placed on understanding and controlling key factors that govern powder consolidation have brought about improvements in properties of ceramic materials in recent years. A number of dry and fluid consolidation techniques exist to shape powders. Dry pressing, injection molding, extrusion and slip casting are the most common. In general, processing conditions are adjusted to attain high packing densities. This minimizes dimensional changes during drying or firing and improves the compound's properties.
