摘要

Scintillating materials are used for the detection of direct or indirect ionizing particles They always work under radiation that can influence the energy resolution of the detector. In order to maintain their optical properties in a severe radiation environment, scintillator materials must be of high radiation hardness.rnThermal annealing, optical bleaching, material purification and stoichiometry tuning have been used to eliminate radiation-induced absorption bands of scintillating crystals and glasses. Doping with cations having variable valency also influences radiation resistance and improved transmission of materials.
