The All Things Baking show, which took place in Schaumburg, III., Oct 2-4, was created to serve as the industry's annual meeting place and educational forum during the two-year gap in the International Bakery Industry Exposition schedule. The show floor was busy, classes were full and on-floor demonstrations took place in front of standing-room-only crowds. Instructors from the Chicago-based French Pastry School were in constant demand and several classes sold out including "Pricing Strategies for Sculpted and Custom Cakes"and"Cake Sclupting with Internal Supports". Another highlight of the show was the 11th Pillsbury Bakers' Plus Creative Decorating Competition that took place live on the show floor over the course of the three days.
