1 Dissolve 2 level tablespoons of unflavored gelatin (Knox or Great Lakes) into 5 tablespoons of cold water. Stir until all the gelatin is moist, then allow to bloom for 5 minutes. Place the cup of gelatin in a second bowl and fill the outer bowl with nearly boiling water. The gelatin will completely dissolve and become clear with a white foam forming on the top. Use a teaspoon to remove all the foam so that you left only with a nice, clear, liquid gelatin.
