1. Using a Dresden tool, begin to lightly trace a free-flowing pattern into the freshly covered cake. Once you have decided on your design, apply more pressure to fully carve the design into the cake. On the left side, have the lines swirling and flowing outward farther than the right. The right side should be slightly shorter to adjust for the final line of sight on the cake. 2. Repeat the process on the next largest tier. 3. Repeat again on the remaining two tiers, covering each cake then carving your design. With it being a free-flowing design, there is no right or wrong way.
