ACD: Hi Shani! We're so thrilled to have you on board as an ACD instructor. What made you decide to become a content creator? Shani Christenson (SC): One of my main goals last year was to expand my online presence and to find an additional income stream doing something I really enjoyed. I was struggling to find information on how to do this, but then I came across Kara Andretta's blogging course and signed up. It was Kara's course that really got me started on tutorials. ACD: How do you decide which projects to tutorialize? What makes a good tutorial? SC: I take inspiration from a variety of places, and I choose projects that inspire me as a cake artist. I always look first and foremost at techniques, rather than designs. I think it's important that when someone purchases a tutorial, they're able to learn several techniques that can then be applied to other cake projects. People need to be able to translate the techniques to suit their own specific needs.
