While the role of sounds as useful adjuncts remains to be clarified, visual cues (color, shape) have been shown to be effective elements that enhance learning when they are components of animations (Wilson-Pauwels, 1997; Table 1).n Some of the more popular animation packages are summarized in Table 2.
