Philip Martens new President and COO of Novelis

Novelis Inc. appointed Philip Martens President and Chief Operating Officer. He will succeed Martha Finn Brooks, who is going to retire, effec-tive 8 May 2009. Mr Martens most re-cently served as Senior Vice President and President, Light Vehicle Systems, ArvinMeritor Inc., and President and CEO designate, Arvin Innovation. In that position he was responsible for the overall Strategie and operational management of the company's passenger vehicle components, modules and Systems business. Prior to that, he served as President and COO of Piastech Engineered Products. From 1987 to 2005, he held various engineering and leadership positions at Ford Motor Company, most recently serving as Group Vice President of Product Creation. Martens will be based in Atlanta, Georgia, at the company's executive offices.
