With the increased capacity provided by the second EMC technology, casting unit, Amag casting has succeeded in extending its excellent continuous casting quality to a wider range of products. This will enable Amag casting to even more clearly underline its image as a premium quality producer. Based on the experience and comprehensive user know-how of Amag casting, casting recipes for new alloys can be established very quickly. A global view of the whole process chain from the raw material to the end product proves the advantages of EMC with regard to numerous products that were previously cast using conventional DC, as the switch to EMC increases yields and saves ingot milling and other operations. For products, with regard to traditionally EMC cast products, the new plant extends the ingot thickness range to 600 mm.rnWith EMC technology, Amag casting can produce a broader spectrum of continuous cast products of the highest quality. As a consequence, the company can pass this advantage on to its customers in the form of innovative rolled products.
