Aluminium Laufen from Switzerland is a company with about 300 employees, which achieve a turnover of around 100 million euros, three-quarters of which come from the extrusion plant. The main products are extruded profiles and bars with weights per metre between 0.2 and 18 kg, and heat-treated and finished profile components. In addition, in accordance with the mechanical, thermal and chemical stresses they will have to undergo during further use, and depending on the number required, castings too are produced by gravity, low-pressure or pressure diecasting. Since 2002 Aluminium Laufen has operated a billet casthouse of its own, which remelts the process scrap from its own production operations.
