摘要

Aluminium alloys are light, easy to shape by plastic working, and in the case of casting alloys, can give better products and higher productivity by diecasting. Accordingly, the demand for mechanical components made from aluminium alloys has increased. In addition to strength, wear resistance is often required since moving aluminium components that make sliding contact with each other are becoming more common as machinery becomes lighter. For such applications the wear resistance of aluminium alloys is not generally sufficient unless greatly improved by the use of a lubricant. Thus, designs in which aluminium alloy components slide against one another can be used when the contact conditions are appropriate.
