World leaders in the aluminium industry all recognise that energy and environmental requirements present new opportunities and challenges for the 21st century. They also recognise that technology improvements for production equipment now need to succeed in a competitive global market. These improvements have a better chance of success. They are developed in partnership between equipment suppliers and aluminium producers. To illustrate such a commitment, Alcoa and Stas have teamed up to develop a new system to automatically position anodes in electrolysis cells.
