On September 9, the American Arbitration Association issued revisions to its Commercial Arbitration Rules. The revised rules took effect on October 1; it is important to note their application, with some exceptions, to arbitrations filed after that date.rnThe Commercial Arbitration Rules are applied most often in domestic U.S. arbitration, and include procedures for large, complex commercial disputes. According to the AAA, the rules were applied in 6,000 commercial disputes in 2012.
