CPR Institute (which publishes Alternatives) has from its inception promoted the adoption of alternate dispute resolution (ADR), beginning in the 1980s with its Corporate and Law Firm Policy Statements on Alternatives to Litigation (GPR Pledge). More than 4,000 operating companies and 1,500 law firms have committed to considering ADR, on a case-by-case basis, before filing suit.
