American Airlines (AA/AAL) took delivery of its first Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. Deliveries were originally set to begin in November 2014, but an issue in the certification of the Business Class lie-flat seats, among other small details, resulted in a delay that pushed the delivery to early 2015. Although, as of press time, there is no confirmation of when or to where the first scheduled flights will be, the airline has stated that the Dreamliner will be primarily used in hub-to-hub routes, for crew training purposes, before scheduling it on international flights by mid-2015.
